At Women's Whole Health Academy, we explore Ayurvedic philosophy as a way to better understand our natural tendencies, daily rhythms, digestion, energy, and overall well-being. Whether you are new to Ayurveda or interested in learning more about your individual constitution, this foundation invites you to discover a different perspective on caring for yourself.
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a traditional system of health and wellness that originated in India thousands of years ago. Its name is commonly translated as the science of life, reflecting its emphasis on understanding the whole person and cultivating balance in everyday living. Ayurveda describes three constitutional principles, known as Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, which help explain individual differences in physical characteristics, energy, digestion, and responses to our environment. Through practices involving nourishment, movement, rest, seasonal routines, and mindful living, Ayurveda encourages us to become more attentive to our individual needs. Rather than following the same wellness routine as everyone else, Ayurvedic philosophy invites us to consider what balance may look like in our own lives.
